I thought I would give everyone a little taste of what my last two months have been like. This week is the last week of the summer program. For two months I have been planning and going to events non-stop. We average about three a week. There are only five summer associates this summer, which has made it a bit easier than years past. I am so excited to be able to get back to my normal routine next week!
Welcome Happy Hour at Reef. We rented out the whole bar for about 60 or so people.
Volunteer Day at SEARCH Homeless. We got to prepare and serve breakfast and lunch to 100+ homeless people. I really enjoyed this day. It made me so thankful and grateful for what I have. One of the people that runs the place used to be homeless. His story was so sad. He used to be the head chef at a country club in the 70s. He got into a bad car accident and neither he or the other driver had car insurance (this was right before car insurance was required). He went bankrupt paying for his 30 surguries and 2 years in the hospital. He then became severely depressed and started abusing his perscription drugs which lead his wife and family to leave him. He was then homeless. It just goes to show that things can change so quickly and that you should never take anything you have for granted.
Sporting Clays Event at George Bush Park. This event was so fun. I love shooting guns!
Michel (marketing girl) and me with our instructor!
Firm Brunch at Brennan's. This event was great! Expensive, but great! Me and my intern for the summer, Lauren. She has helped me SO much!
The one event that Blake gets to attend since spouses are also included.
Houston Dynamo Game on the party deck. So fun to get to see Caroline and Charlotte at the game. Char has season tickets and so she was already there with Caroline. I had some extra wristbands to get them (and Blake and a friend- shhh) in to the party deck. Fun! Please notice me with my awesome TK nametag.

Saint Arnolds Event. We had a tour and rented out the private Investor's Pub Room. I think I may have a personal event there sometime because its only $900 to rent the whole room and that includes however much beer you can drink for the 3 hours you have the room!
Women's Initiative Cooking Class at Well Done Cooking. We had the Dinner in Greece menu and made hummus, kabobs, and flaming cheese. :)
TK Aprons
Dinner at Truluck's in the private room. This was just this past Thursday. I loved this event. We then went to the Tasting Room in Uptown Park afterwards. Thursdays are fun there because they have a band. Yes, I got asked by a partner to dance. Yes, I had to because three other people had already said no. I took one for the team!
Kelli (summer associat), me, Sarah, and Marlen
There were tons of other events that I didn't take pictures at. Some of them were a wine dinner at Flemings, a Spa Day at Isle Pedispa, two trips up to Dallas, Dinner at Ouisie's Table, Golf/Golf Clinic and dinner at El Tiempo, Women's dinner at Tiny's No. 5, and an Astros game in the TK suite.
The summer has been so fun, but I am ready to sleep and have my personal life back!
