My birthday gift to Blake was a night at the Inn at Dos Brisas. I had never heard of this place before a couple months ago when I literally googled "Top Bed and Breakfasts in Texas"and stumbled upon this place. It's located an hour and 15 minutes from our front door right outside of Chappel Hill, TX.
We were blown away by everything about the place. It sits on a 320 acre ranch, and is the most relaxing and romantic place I have ever been to in Texas.
We stopped to take a picture in a solid yellow field of flowers on the way there.
So many indian paint brushes. We were there at the perfect time for wild flowers.
The property had three lakes.
The main building where the restaurant, pool, and bar are located.
You stay in little casitas. Stand alone buildings where you share one wall with some neighbors. They were pretty big and beautifully decorated in a ranch vibe.
We had our own kitchenette, a welcome cheese board, bottle of champagne and everything in the mini bar was free!
Our patio.
Each casita comes with your very own golf cart to explore the property.
Our casita, Rosa, from a distance.
When we first got there we took the golf cart for a ride and found the largest Adirondack chairs I've ever seen!
Beautiful bluebonnets.
View from the pool.
With each stay, you get one free ranch activity for each person. You could choose from Horseback riding, clay shooting, wine tasting, or carriage ride. We chose clay shooting. Blake had no idea where we were going before we left, but just to bring his shot gun.
It was fun, but both of our shoulders were so sore. We still have bruises! Blake was a better shot than me.
So, this place has the only five star restaurant in all of Texas. Hard to believe, right? It's true. We were super excited to try it out.
Pre-dinner drinks at the bar.
Birthday boy!
This was one of, if not the best, dinner we have ever had. We did the 8 course tasting menu and it was absolutely to die for. Not cheap, but to die for. We had never done a tasting menu before, and decided that this was the place to do it. Such a good memory!
The next morning we had room service breakfast, then went out to one of the lakes for Blake to practice fly fishing for Colorado.
We then went to see the horses.
I loved this one. I just love animals in general.
This place is amazing for a weekend getaway. Go there! You will not be disappointed. Everything from the staff, to the service, to the food, and the accommodations - It was all top notch.
