This past weekend B and I celebrated our two year anniversary by going to San Fran/Napa. Well, the trip was actually just for Napa, but Blake had never been to San Francisco so we stayed a night there and did all of the San Franny things. Our flight was really early in the morning on Thursday so it put us there around 11:30 a.m. We checked into our hotel (we used hotwire and got the Parc 55 in Union Square), and then hopped on a trolly to Fisherman's Wharf.
Beautiful San Fran!
Once we got to Fisherman's Wharf we headed to a local pub for lunch. We sat outside in the gorgeous weather and had clam chowder (me) and fish and chips (Blake) and a beer. The clam chowder was rated best in San Fran by the San Francisco Chronicle. It was pretty dang good! We then walked around the wharf for a while.
Blake wished we had time to go see Alcatraz. Next time, babe!
We then thought that it would be a good idea to walk to Lombard Street. Below is a picture of the hill we climbed to get there. Man, we needed hiking boots on!

We finally made it to the "crookedest street in the world" and found the largest hydrangeas I have ever seen!! They are my favorite flower so I was super pumped about them.
That night we were really tired so we just grabbed dinner at a little Italian place across the street from our hotel and called it a night. The next morning we were up early and headed for Muir Woods on the way to Napa. Blake was really excited to go over the Golden Gate bridge, but it was so foggy that this was our view. What a disappointment! :(
We got to Muir Woods before the crowds. 1. I think because we got there by 9:00 a.m. and 2. because it was foggy. If you have not been, the woods are magnificent. The giant redwoods are breathtaking.
We went for an hour and half hike on a hiking trail through the woods. It was so much fun! I kept thinking of the forest in the video game Zelda for some reason...
Gotta love the self timer! I really like this picture.
After Napa on our way back to the San Fran airport, we took the long route to try the Golden Gate again. Clear blue skies this time!! We didn't have enough time to stop and get out of the car, but it was still fun none the less.
San Francisco was great! We did everything we really wanted or needed to do except Alcatraz (Blake) and seeing the Full House house (me). Guess we will just have to go back one day...
