Christmas in KC

The first day we were in Kansas City we had lunch with our good family friends Ricky and Shae. We got to meet their new little one, Amelia. She is just precious. :) I had never had KC bbq before so they took me to a staple, Jackstack. It was so good! Much different than Texas bbq, but equally as good.

Our friend, Ryan, had a few people over for a dinner party that night. Just a pic before we left.

He did SUCH A GOOD JOB. He cooked pork tenderloin, mashed potatoes, baked tomatos, garlic bread and had a salad. Now, I don't usually like pork, but I he grilled some of the best I have ever had. It was great.

Group shot!

We love John and Mandy. So sad we didn't get to meet baby Ella.

Christmas Eve Morning.

On Christmas Eve the family went to Capital Grille for dinner. The lobster mac n cheese is aaamazing!

Family pic outside of the restaurant. I just love the plaza.

Christmas morning we did presents with the five of us and then that afternoon the Allen side of the family came over for lunch and gifts. Below are all the Allen side cousins with Grammie.

Christmas night we went over to Blake's aunts house for a pajama party. What a perfect time to be corny and wear our matching Christmas pjs again!

Funny story: Grant will watch our house from time to time when we go out of town. One day when he was staying at our house, he was looking for Jack in Blake's man room. Under the couch he came across a shake weight that my dad had given everyone in the family last Christmas. All year we had given my dad a hard time about the whole shake weight thing. I think it was on the list of the top worst Christmas gifts. Anyway, Grant didn't know any of this and thought that Blake actually had and used a shake weight. He told all of Blake's uncles in April when he was last in KC that he had a shake weight. So for the last 8 months they have been laughing in secret about this. Well, we left a day before Grant to fly to KC so the night we left, he came to our house and stole the shake weight to bring to KC to use for a practical joke. Christmas night at his aunt's house (there were 20+ people there) Grant presents Blake with a wrapped gift. He opened it and everyone had a good laugh.
