Labor Day in Durango, CO

The Argue/Allen/Martin clan headed up to Durango over Labor Day. I just love it up there. Hopefully we will be able to go up there a ton more in the future (Dad-that comment is in your direction!). The weather was absolutely phenomenal. High of 85 and a low of 60. Can't get much better than that.

On the first day we took a train ride from Durango to Silverton. The track has been around since the late 1800's and is so remote you can only get to parts of it by the train or horseback. The views were breathtaking.

Just hangin out.

In Silverton we had lunch at Handlebar's, a western burger joint. Picture below.

The fam rented and stayed in the gorgeous mountain house. Not a bad place to stay. :)

One morning Blake and Jud went fly fishing. They caught a bunch of smaller fish, but nothing to write home about.

Blake said it was a ton of fun.

My dad, Blake, and Jud played golf one morning.

While the boys played golf, the ladies and the children went to Durango mountain (the ski resort) and had lunch. Linds and Miller on the chair lift.

The boys came and met us at the mountain after golf, and we did the Alpine slide. I like the think of it as dry bobsledding. The track lasted a long time, about 2 minutes. Blake and I raced, Blake won.

On Monday, my mom, Blake, and I went horseback riding. I hadn't been on a horse in quite a while, and the only riding I had done until then was flat riding. Mountain riding is so different and so much more fun. We rode along side cliffs and climbed quite a bit.

This was my favorite part of the trip!

Thanks to my parents for all they did for us on the trip. We had a blast, and I cannot wait to go back.
