On Saturday night, Blake and I, Katie and Austin, and Sarah and Dan went out to celebrate Dan's 29th birthday! We went to Ava Whiskey Bar for a drink before dinner which was upstairs at Alto Pizzeria. Both places are new and in the West Ave Complex on Kirby. I really loved the atmosphere of both. They are owned by the same people so the look is very similar. Alto was a overpriced, but overall I would recommend it. We had a ton of fun, drank a little too much wine, and were home at 10:30. That is how I like to spend my weekends these days - yes, I know I am getting old.
