Boston

Last week Blake and I went on our 5 year anniversary trip. This was supposed to be our 4 year trip, but I was violently throwing up everywhere last year so we just moved it back a year. We had five days away to do WHATEVER we wanted. It was glorious. I am so thankful to Nan who flew down from KC to watch baby girl.

I have always wanted to drive from Florida to Maine along the Atlantic Coast. However, we don't have weeks to do that so Boston to Maine will have to do.

We flew in pretty late so when we got to the hotel we just decided to walk around the neighborhood for a bit and then went to the hotel bar for a cocktail.

While walking around we turned the corner to find this beauty of a building. Blake goes "Oh my gosh, what is that?!?" After a second I saw the RH and laughed and said Boston's Restoration Hardware. My mothership! Ha!

Morning view from our hotel room, The Public Garden. The leaves were just starting to turn in Boston.

We had one full day in Boston. First up, was a walk through the Public Gardens and Boston Common.

We then took the underground to Harvard campus and Harvard square. Such a different college life than we had.

Harvard yard.

Next up was the oldest neighborhood in Boston, Beacon Hill. I LOVED that area.

This is supposedly the most photographed street in the country. What happened to Lombard Street?!

Went to Cheers for lunch. I have actually never even seen an episode of the TV show.

After that we headed to Faneuil Hall. It was really neat. Then stopped into the Black Rose, a traditional Irish pub.

And then had a dance party in our room before dinner. Sober. With the selfie stick. :)

We headed to the North End (Little Italy) for dinner. We ate at a great little place called Mamma Maria. It was right across the street from Paul Revere's house.

Paul's house.

The next morning we had a great workout in the hotel's gym with Scott Pelly, the national news anchor. I didn't recognize him but Blake did.

Maine and Vermont posts to come soon!
