Three Months

Emmy bear is three months old! She is just the cutest thing and full of smiles. I am not going to lie, I am pretty glad that the "fourth trimester" is over. The first three months are HARD. It's getting easier now, and we are falling into a rhythm. She is sleeping 11 hours straight at night!! 8:00 pm - 7:00 am. Woo Hoo! We do give her an 11:00 pm dream feed though. We keep her as asleep as possible and give her a bottle. She will stay asleep the whole time. Then we put her right back to bed. Genius.

Melts my heart.

She met her friend Claire, who is 10 weeks younger than her. They are going to be besties.

Jack is coming around to her. Granted, this only happened once, but it is a step in the right direction!

In her KC gear.

Nanny came down to visit.

So sweet. Uncle Granty.

Then we had the trip to Texas Children's ER... She had a temperature of 101.0, and they don't mess around with temperatures in infants under three months. It was a Saturday so we went to the Urgent Care first, but they sent us to the ER. We didn't get home until after midnight. She had a virus and the start of a UTI. Poor thing!

This picture just breaks my heart.

She had to have a catheter and an IV. My weak mommy self couldn't handle it, and had to leave the room. Daddy was a champ though. All the screaming and tears sent my anxiety through the roof.

We started 4th of July weekend with one of the best concerts ever, Garth Brooks. He is old and overweight but still put on an awesome show!! It was basically a two hour sing along. We bought my dad tickets for Father's Day.

We watched the Lakeside fireworks. Emerson slept through the whole show!

She also swam for the first time. She had just woke up from a nap and was a little out of it still.

First bumbo experience. She liked it...for about five minutes.

Blake had back surgery a few days ago. We are praying that this is a permanent fix for his disc herniation and sciatica. The surgeon said that he can't pick up Emerson (or anything over five pounds) for at least two weeks. For the time being, I am a single mommy to two kiddos. :)

How they get to spend time together.

Smooch attach. She has grown to love them and will smile when they happen.
