I haven't posted about sweet young baby Jack in quite a while. Right now we are going through a tough time with the little bugger. He contracted a urinary tract infection a couple of weeks ago. We thought okay, no biggie, we will give him antibiotics for a week and be done with it. Not so much. For two weeks now we have been battling this UTI and he still isn't back to normal. Apparently UTIs in cats are very dangerous. If it gets to the point where he can't pee at all within about 24 hours he could die because he can't rid the toxins out of his body which would cause kidney failure. A $800 vet bill (to this point), anti-inflammatory meds, pain meds, two antibiotics, feeding him water with a syringe multiple times a day, and taking him to the the vet to get an IV two to three times a week has not been much fun. Not to mention we have to check his litter box three times a day to make sure he is going! Good thing he is cute! No, but seriously, we would do just about anything for Kitty Jack. We (Blake too) love him SO much!
Jack is a bit of a celeb at Blake's office. Everyone likes to make fun of him for having a cat and people always ask how Kitty Jack is doing on any given day. I realize that this is somewhat of a joke. Now though, people genuinely seem to be concerned about Kitty Jack and ask about him daily. By people, I mean all 20 people at Blake's frat house office.
He seems to be doing better, but still has a little ways to go. 14 more days of antibiotics and a few more tests. Poor little guy.
Look at that face!
Haha - Grant made this and sent it to us. He is so sweet. This is Jack laying on Grant's lap a couple of months ago. He looks a little scary (and tubby) in this pic.
Morning cuddle time.
Sleepy Jack.
