36 Hours in Seattle

Last week, B and I were in Seattle for 36 hours. We decided to make the stop on the way to my cousins wedding in Idaho. We stayed at the Edgewater Hotel, which is the only waterfront hotel in Seattle.

And I mean, WATER FRONT. It was actually partly built over the water. Here is the view from our room.

Hotel room.

We got in at about 9:00 PM Pacific time so we just had appetizers at the hotel bar and hit the hay. The next morning we walked to Pike Place Market. I think this was my favorite part of the day.

My mothership - the original Starbucks. It's right in the middle of the market.

I'm such a happy camper.

There was a huge flower market, and it was crazy how cheap the flowers were. A big arrangement was $25!

It was such great weather in the morning. It was in the 60s until about Noon, but then it got so hot. It was so weird.

So. Much. Smelly. Seafood.

"We sell wild salmon caught by wild fisherman".

Freaky.

This is the famous fish throwing spot in the market. We even got to see a few being tossed around.

We then headed to the Space Needle.

Up top.

After the space needle, we went to the Chihuly Glass and Garden Museum. He is the guy that does all of the glass work in the Bellagio in Vegas. His stuff is so so cool!

We then relaxed in a park near the space needle.

There were pretty flowers everywhere up there.

At the end of the day we took the ferry over to Bainbridge Island. View leaving Seattle. Our hotel is to the left of the cruise ship.

Chillin on the ferry ride.

On Bainbridge we walked around downtown, and had a wine tasting in a little tasting room in downtown. Bainbridge Island actually has numerous wineries and vineyards on it. Who knew?!

For some reason I stopped taking pictures after this point. We had dinner reservations at a swanky joint that night, but were so tired from the 13 hours of walking around Seattle that we put on the comfy robes, ordered room service, Blake taught me how to play gin rummy, and we called it a day.

Seattle is a pretty cool place. Go visit!
